A downloadable game

Chains is inspired by classic building games like The Settlers II – but adds rhythm to it.

About

Like Settlers, Chains is about producing goods and transporting them to the warehouse.

However, in Chains there are no buildings in the traditional sense, but rather small monsters that take care of production. The central warehouse is also not a warehouse, but rather a monster that I have been calling The Center.

The Center

Carriers are used to transport goods from the production monsters to the Center. Since the last episode, there have been two types:

  • Quarter Carriers, which transport something every quarter note, and
  • Eight Carriers, which transport something every eighth note.

The right rhythm is important: goods can spoil on the way, which is why they need to be brought to the center as quickly as possible. In addition, production monsters such as the Worm Cooker need two goods at the same time.

If a good is delivered in perfect condition, it can have its full effect: a fresh mushroom, for example, allows us to build 10 more quarter carriers. But if it arrives spoiled, the effect is weaker and we can build fewer quarter carriers.
